The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Sells 60 Million Units
While Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty continue proving successful for CD Projekt RED, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remains its biggest release ever. In CD Projekt Group’s Q1 2025 earnings report, it revealed that the open-world action RPG has sold 60 million units as of May 28, 2025.
It includes the base game and Game of the Year Edition and doesn’t account for expansion sales. The title’s last major sales milestone was in May 2023, with over 50 million units sold worldwide.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released for Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2015 and eventually came to Nintendo Switch in 2019. The Complete Edition marked its dedicated launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion, 4K upscaled textures for characters, cross-progression, new content based on Netflix’s The Witcher, and more.
CD Projekt RED is working on a sequel, The Witcher 4, starring Ciri as the protagonist (though Geralt does appear in some form). Other projects, including a remake of the first game and a spin-off, are also in development.
