Ubisoft seems to be working on a remake for one of the more well-liked entries in the Assassin’s Creed franchise—Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. According to Kotaku, the remake is a part of the company’s strategy of focusing quite a bit on its flagship franchise.

The Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake is still in early stages of development, according to Kotaku’s sources, and isn’t slated to come out for quite a few years. The report also states that a team from Ubisoft Singapore is involved with the game.

Originally released back in 2013, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was the first game in the franchise to release on the PS4 and Xbox One. The game featured an open-sea filled with pirates that players could get into naval battles with alongside the typical assassinating that would be expected of protagonist Edward Kenway.

When it comes to games based on pirates, Ubisoft is also currently working on Skull and Bones. While the game has seen quite a few delays over the last few years, according to Kotaku, Ubisoft’s Singapore studio is currently forcing its employees to work on the title in the office rather than remotely ahead of the upcoming closed beta.
