Final Fantasy 14 Mobile is in Development โ€“ Rumour

Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker

Final Fantasy 14 continues to be a massive money-maker for Square Enix in a way that no one could have anticipated upon its initial failed launch back in 2010, and even now, the MMORPG continues to go from strength to strength. After getting its long-awaited Xbox Series X/S launch earlier this year, the MMO recently saw the launch of its newest expansion, Dawntrailโ€“ and it seems that yet more significant milestones might also be in the pipeline.

Known leaker Kurakasis has claimed on the Exputer forums that a mobile version of Final Fantasy 14 is in development. The port is allegedly being handled by Tencent, with whom Square Enix entered into a strategic alliance back in 2018.

Allegedly, Tencent and Square were initially working on an unannounced NieR game for mobile devices, but that project was shelved, with work now being underway on bringing Final Fantasy 14 to mobile devices.

Square Enix recently announced that Final Fantasy 14 had seen its highest number of concurrent users since 2013 following the launch of Dawntrail. Read more on that through here.
