Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is âMoving Forward Properly,â Says Konami
The latest Metal Gear Production Hotline at Tokyo Game Show 2025 offered a more extensive look at Fox Hunt, the new multiplayer mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. However, as is usually the case, the development team fielded questions from fans, including one about Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
Producer Noriaki Okamura confirmed (translation via Kuwabara357) that itâs âmoving forward properlyâ and that itâs âcertainly taken quite a while now.â âSince we called the first installment âVol. 1,â itâs only natural to expect a second one, and thatâs what we said years ago. But, as weâve repeated several times, we are making it.â
Vol. 2 has been in the works while the team worked on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, but Okamura isnât quite ready to share any new information about it. âAt the right timing, weâd like to share with you all not only about its progress but also the direction going forward. Iâm sorry, it feels like I always have to say thisâ¦but please wait just a little longer.
âHow long âa little longerâ actually means⦠well, itâs hard to say. But the project is moving forward properly, and we believe itâs shaping up to be something enjoyable, really. So please wait just a bit more, more information is coming.â
While thereâs much speculation about what Vol. 2 could offer, many fans hope that it includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Released in 2008, it caps off Solid Snakeâs long journey in an epic finale. Unfortunately, itâs only playable on PS3 and remains the only Metal Gear title to not be re-released on other platforms. Whether it happens or not, stay tuned for more updates and check out our review for Vol. 1.
