Pocketpair has announced that Palworld, its survival crafting creature collection title, has sold more than one million copies within eight hours of launch. It entered early access recently for PC and Xbox Series X/S and is also playable on Game Pass. Thus far, the title has hit 462,632 peak concurrent players on Steam.
Like a fever dream version of Pokemon, Palworld allows for exploring a massive archipelago and capturing Pals to do your bidding. You could field them in battle but also have them toil away in your base to craft weapons, cook, chop wood, mine materials and much more. That’s before getting into the whole sordid business involving capturing humans, butchering Pals and whatnot.
Check out our early access review of Palworld here. Pocketpair is working on cross-play and PvP but also has improvements to the building system, player trading and a raid boss in mind. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
