Vanillaware’s Unicorn Overlord launched in a busy month, with Rise of the Ronin and Dragon’s Dogma 2 arriving nearly two weeks later. Nevertheless, it’s seen an impressive reception, selling out physical copies and topping Japanese sales charts for two weeks. Atlus has also released an accolades trailer, confirming over 500,000 units sold. Check it out below.

Though the trailer was uploaded on March 22nd, it looks to have become available recently. For comparison’s sake, the developer’s last major game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, launched in Japan in November 2019 and worldwide in September 2020. It would sell over 300,000 copies by January 2021.

Of course, Unicorn Overlord is available for several more platforms while also seeing a simultaneous worldwide release. It also doesn’t hurt that the gameplay leans more toward tactical strategy role-playing while offering a compelling story and cast of characters. However, PC players hoping for a port may have to keep waiting. Head here to find out why.
