Along with a sales update for Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware also announced in a press release that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has shipped over 10 million units worldwide. Launched in June 2024, it surpassed five million sales within three days.

As the first and only story expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree introduces a new region called the Land of Shadow. Players pursue Miquella throughout, confronting new bosses and enemies while learning more about the hidden region’s place in the lore. This includes confronting Messmer the Impaler, who has ties with Queen Marika.

The expansion introduces several new weapons, sorceries, enchantments, and armor sets alongside a separate difficulty scaling system. By using Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ash, you can boost attack and defense while also empowering Spirit Summons.
